Change of Representative Directors
Kirin Holdings Company, Limited ("Kirin") today announced the board appointed today the representative director candidates.
The candidates are to be formally appointed after the first board meeting after the general shareholders meeting held on March 26.
1. The reasons for the change
In 2006, Kirin Group announced Kirin Group Vision 2015 ("KV2015"), Kirin's long-term management vision for the period through to 2015. The key themes being developed under KV2015 are to establish Kirin as a leading company in the area of food and health, pursue an integrated beverages group strategy, and internationalize Kirin with a focus on Asia and Oceania.
Kirin's 2007-2009 medium-term business plan was the first stage in realizing the goals of KV2015. During this period our aims were to expand our business foundations and put Kirin on a new trajectory of growth by revitalizing our domestic alcohol beverages business, pursuing an integrated beverages group strategy in Japan and abroad, and making large-scale investments for growth.
In October 2009 we announced Kirin's 2010-2012 medium-term business plan (the "2010 MTBP"), representing the second stage of KV2015. We have positioned the 2010 MTBP as a period of implementation, in which we comprehensively address key issues, undertake continuous reform, and expand Group synergies to realize a significant increase in total Group earnings and efficiency. We will continue to develop appealing, value-added products for customers that offer new ways of enjoying food and health, and through business and other activities contribute to the development of a sustainable society.
As part of our initiatives for 2010, we are revising our management structure to support a further step in Group growth.
