TOKYO, December 10, 2021 - Château Mercian Hosaka Koshu ESSENCE 2020 from Mercian Corporation (a Kirin Group company) won the Gold Medal in Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition 2021, in November 11.

The Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition is the Asia’s largest international competition, developed in conjunction with the International Wine & Spirit Competition held for over 40 years in London. The judges are comprised of top industry experts who are either from or mainly active in Asia. Gold Medal Winner: Château Mercian Hosaka Koshu ESSENCE 2020
This is a sweet wine made from the juice of late ripening Koshu grapes, a grape variety indigenous to Japan, frozen and concentrated.
It is a sweet wine with a rich aroma, a full body, a good acidity and a deep sweetness.
The name " ESSENCE " expresses the elegant and delicate taste of Koshu.
